SFAM-1106 Flashcards
1
Q
DECU lockout
A
- Correctly analyze the emergency situation
- Maintain Np,Ng, MGT, and torwue within limits.
- Place engine in lockout and set torque approximately 10% below governed engine torque
- Execute an approach (normal or slide-on)
After Landing, retuen the engine in lockout to normal DECU governing as follows:
- Reduce throttle to flight idle.
- Cautiously roll the throttle up to full open to ensure normal governing is in effect.
2
Q
Hovering / Taxi Autorotations
A
- From a hover 5’ into the wind with approximately 10-12 knots GS.
- Freeze the collective, elimnate yaw and drift, cushion cushion cushion.
- Right pedal and right cyclic. Level the skids.
3
Q
Full Autorotations
A
- To initiate the maneuver, roll throttles to idle, simultaneously reducing collective to the full down position.
- Maintain heading and/or trim with the pedals. Adjust collective as necessary to maintain rotor rpm within limits.
Basic autorotational descents should be performed at
Straight in: 750’ 90: 1000’ 180: 1300’ 360: 3000’
80-90 KIAS. Steady state Auto at 85KIAS is 4 degrees NU.
- Flare should be at 150’AGL 15-30 degrees NU.
- During the Flare smoothly roll both throttles toward full OPEN position.
- Level the Skids and pull collective. Terminate at 10ft and 30-40 KGS.
Idle, Down, right, transition, turn, Attitude, Nr, Ball, 250 on course, 200 full down, 150 flare, full open/closed, 30-40KIAS level, 20-25’ cusion, recover by 10ft.
113KCAS best Glide
80KCAS Min rate Descent.
4
Q
High Speed Low Level Autorotations
A
High Speed Low Level
- Establish balanced flight, 120KIAS and 200’ AGL on the final approach course prior to commencing the maneuver.
- 120KIAS at a constant altitude no less than 100’AGl or 50’ above the highest approach obstacle.
- Enter the Auto, reduce throttles to flight idle and apply coordinated aft cyclic with collective reduction to slow the helicopter and to maintain Nr within limits.
- At 80-90 KIAS and 75’ AGL, complete a normal practice autorotational approach.
High Speed Auto
- Setup for the maneuver by flying straight nd level at an altitude greater than 200’AGL and 85-100% MRGB Q with a suitable landing site available.
5
Q
Autorotation to a Spot
A
- Entry altitude and position may be varied (at or a bove minimum entry altitudes).
- Airspeed may be varied 80-110 KIAS (min rate of descent to max glide).
- During th autorotation, changes in airspeed, varying the track over the ground (S-turns), and sideslip (ball) may be used to make the intended point of landing.
6
Q
Loss of Tail Rotor Thrust /Components in flight.
A
