What is a sex role stereotype
A set of beliefs and preconcvived ideas about what is expectated or appropriate for males and females in a given society

Found mother playing with thought a boy encouraged more motor activitieds, girls reinforced by passive told ‘pretty’

Assess advertising on perception of gender app toys
PP- 5-6 years randomly allocted 1 of 3 conditions
Procedure
1- condition shows ad boy playing w gender app toy
2- girl playing w same gender app toy
3- control group food
Findings Pike and Jennings
Found placed more toys in gender neutral immediately after being asked to place them in groups
