A piece of land set aside by the government for the Indians

Wovoka indian had a vision that if the Indians performed the ghost dance it would bring

Big foot went to convince the ghost dancers to remain peaceful and they were surrounded by the army. An accidental gun went off and the army needed up killing the unarmed indians
What was the battle of sand creek?
Black kettle signed a treaty with chivingtons men but they drunkenly attacked the Indians and killed everyone in the camp
What was the battle at little big horn?
Custer attacked the Indians not knowing there were more behind the hill and Custer and his men were slaughtered
Who was Fred Harvey?
Opened a series of restaurants on the atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe railroad
What was the homestead act?
160 acres of free land of settlers would build a house and live on it for five years
What were cattle drives?
Ranchers took cattle from Texas to cow towns in Kansas so they could be shipped using the railroad . They ended when rail lines extended into Texas
What were the effects of railroads on the country?
Someone could easily travel the U.S and buffalo hides moves quickly so they were hunted.
Railroad destroyed the culture of the plains indians
