set 3 Flashcards
What happens with you go from glass to air? (higher to lower density)
When a ray of light passes from a denser material (eg water or glass) into a less dense material (eg air) it is bent towards the surface between the two materials.
Draw a diagram that shows Light and Sound Energy
* Sound & light waves
* Change amplitude and frequency
Refraction – what happens when you change medium?
Reflection what happens to light?
The wave length becomes shorter and the wave speed decreases.
The reflection process inverts each wave back-to-front, which is why a reverse image is observed.
Draw a Sound wave
What happens when you change amplitude and frequency?
The amplitude decreases with increasing frequency. The amplitude increases as the frequency decreases.
Draw examples of both
(a. increasing frequency and b. increasing amplitude)
What is electricity? What is Current?
Electricity is the flow of electrical power or charge.
Current is a flow of electrical charge carriers, usually electrons
How does electricity work?
Electricity is when electrons flow or move
What must happen for electrons to flow?
You need a complete circuit for electrons to flow
What is voltage? What is resistance?
Voltage describes the “pressure” that pushes electricity.
Resistance slows down the flow of electrons
