- Data: set of specific objective facts or observations
- Information: data that has been shaped in a meaningful way
What is the definition of information systems? (4)
Set of irrelated components that COLLECT, PROCESS, STORE, and DISTRIBUTE INFORMATION to support decision-making and control in organization.
Difference between IS and IT?
- Information Systems: more complex, need a technology and a business perspective.
- Information Technology: hardware, software, technological side of IS (only a component of IS)

- Keeping track of elemetary operations
