What is the standard circuit direction?

What does a steady green light mean?
Ground = cleared takeoff Air = cleared land
What does a flashing green light mean?
Ground = cleared to taxi Air = return for landing
What does a steady red light mean?
Ground = stop Air = give way and continue circling
What does a flashing red light mean?
Ground = taxi clear of runway Air = airport unsafe do not land
What does a flashing white light indicate?
Ground = Return to starting point Air = n/a
What does an alternating red and green light mean?
Ground and air = Exercise extreme caution
When should a flight plan be filed?
- any flight that will be subject to an ATC service
- an IFR flight within advisory airspace
- any flight across international borders
- any flight at night if leaving the vicinity of the aerodrome
- any flight within or into areas, or along routes designated by the competent authority, to facilitate the provision of flight information, alerting and search and rescue services
- any flight within or into areas or along routes designated by the competent authority, to facilitate coordination with appropriate military units or with air traffic services units in adjacent States in order to avoid the possible need for interception for the purpose of identification;
Above FL100 what are the vmc minima?
Vis = 8km
Distance from cloud = 1500m horizontally and 1000ft vertically
Between FL100 and 3000ft what are the vmc minima?
Vis = 5km
Distance from cloud = 1500m horizontally and 1000ft vertically
Below 3000ft in airspace classes A, B, C, D and E what are the vmc minima?
Vis = 5km
Distance from cloud = 1500m horizontally and 1000ft vertically
Below 3000ft in class F and G airspace what are the vmc minima?
Vis = 5km
Distance from cloud = clear of cloud and in sight of the surface
Below 3000ft in classes F and G airspace and below 140 KIAS what are vmc minima?
Vis = 1500m
Distance from cloud = clear of cloud and in sight of the surface
What are the minimum heights to be flown when VFR?
No less than 500ft above ground, water or above the highest obstacle within a radius of 500ft from the aircraft. (1000ft when over congested areas)
What are the minimum altitudes to be flown when IFR?
Not below 1000ft above the highest obstacle within 8km of the aircraft (2000ft in mountainous areas)
To what flights shall an ATC service be provided?
- to all IFR flights I’m A B C D and E airspace
- to all VFR flights in B C and D airspace
- to all SVFR flights
- to all aerodrome traffic at controlled aerodromes
