EASA Part CAT Flashcards
What is the planning minima for a destination aerodrome and what must be done if this isn’t the case? (Not an isolated aerodrome)
When:
Weather forecasts/reports are above the landing minima for ETA +/- 1hr as follows:
- above the published RVR or single pilot RVR (whichever is greater)
- for a NPA or circling approach the ceiling must be at or above MDH
If this isn’t met then two destination alternates must be selected
When is a takeoff alternate required?
When it would not be possible to return to departure aerodrome for perf or met reasons
What are the requirements for a takeoff alternate for multi engines aircraft?
Within 1 hr flight time at one engine cruise speed
What is the planning minima for a takeoff alternate?
Reported/forecasted weather for ETA +/- 1hr at or above landing minima
When can no destination alternate be selected?
If both:
- planned flight duration is less than 6hrs
- two separate runways are available at destination and the forecasts indicate ceiling is at least 2000ft or circling minima +500ft (whichever is greater) and 5km vis for ETA +/-1hr
When do two destination alternates have to be selected?
When forecasted weather for ETA +/-1hr at destination are below applicable landing minima
OR
No met info is available for destination
What is the alternate planning minima for when a CAT 1 approach is available?
Non precision RVR and at ceiling above MDH
What is the alternate planning minima for when only a non precision approach is available?
Non precision RVR + 1000m and non precision ceiling MDH + 200ft
What is the alternate planning minima when only a circling approach is available?
Circling minima
Where can performance regulations for class B aeroplanes be found?
EASA part CAT sub part C
What is the AEO required climb gradient after takeoff for class B aeroplanes?
4%
What is the required OEI climb gradient for class B aeroplanes?
At 400ft AGL the climb gradient must be measurably positive and at 1500ft AGL the climb gradient must be at least 0.75%
What are the landing requirements for class B aeroplanes?
You must be able to land on the most favourable runway in still air and the most likely runway in the forecast conditions
Within what percentage of the LDA must the LDR be less than?
LDR < 70% LDA
LDR * 1.43 must not exceed LDA
Where can fuel planning regulations be found?
OPS manual and EASA part CAT sub part B
