What are the SIRS criteria?

2 or more of: HR 90 or over. temp under 36 or over 38 RR 20 or over oe PaCO2 under 32mmHg. WCC of under 4 or over 12 or over 10% immature neutrophils.

What is the definition of hypotension in sepsis?
A
Systolic under 90 or 40 mmHG less than normal.

What are the tests for sepsis and treatment for sepsis?
A
Give three and take three:
Give:
empirical antibiotics based on suspected infection - remember to refer to ab man.
Fluids - 500ml x 2 max then help for inotropes.
High flow oxygen.
Take:
Lactate and FBC
Cultures of anything relevant e.g. Bloods definitely but also sputum, urine etc.
Urine output - catheterise.
