What is the management of an acute infective exacerbation of COPD?
A
ISOAP - remember guidelines and Ab man.
Salbutamol- 2.5 to 5 mg nebulised every 20mins
+/- Ipratropium - 0.25 to 0.5 mg nebulised every 20 minutes if not good benefit for Saba.
Oxygen - Venturi 24-28% e.g. Blue to white
Amoxicillin 500mg oral tds
Prednisolone - 30-40mg od
