What is SIRS?

Answer 2

A multi system response that can result from infection as well as from non infective causes. The criteria are as follows:
2 or more of 
1. Temp over 38.3 or under 36 
2. Over 90bpm
3. Over 20 breaths per min 
4. Hyperglycemia 
5. Altered mental state
6. Leukopenia or a normal WBC with more than 10% immature forms
