SIRS + presumed/ confirmed infection

sepsis + organ dysfunction
what are signs of organ dysfunction
confusion, hypoxia, oliguria and metabolic acidosis
what is ‘septic shock’
severe sepsis with hypotension despite fluid resuscitation or lactate acidosis
clinical presentation of sepsis
fever, sweats or chills
breathlessness
headache
nausea and vomiting
diarrhoea
signs of sepsis on clinical examination
hypoxia, tachycardia, hypotension, pyrexia, tachypnoea
investigations
imaging
viral PCR
urinalysis
lumbar puncture
sepsis 6?
ABCDE approach
BUFALO
blood tests, urine output, give IV fluids, IV antibiotics, lactate levels, give oxygen
