A
The theory that in order to prevent unlimited authority and corruption, the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government should be divided into three.

Legislative
A
- Making laws for the nation is the main responsibility of this branch of government
- The Governor General, the House of Representatives, and the Senate make up the legislative branch of government

Executive
A
- Main responsibility is to use government departments to implement laws
- The Queen, the Prime Minister, and the other Ministers make up the Executive
- The House of Representatives is where our government is created; the party with the majority (76 or more) forms the government, and its leader is the prime minister

A
- Is tasked with interpreting the law in order to reach judgments
- The High Court and other Federal Courts make up the Judiciary
