Separation Flashcards

1
Q

Q

Insoluble solids from liquids

A

Using filter paper pour the solution through to leave behind the insoluble solids in the filter paper (purification)

Q

Fractional Distillation

A

As mixtures have different evaporating temperatures
Things with a greater evaporating point will condense at the bottom due to a temperature gradient
Things with a lower boiling point will continue to rise before eventually condensing at the correct temperatures
