Q

Practical for measuring energy changes

A

Using a polystyrene cup, place 10ml of acid into the cup, which is suspended in a glass beaker (to prevent measuring the outside temperature)
Measure the initial temperature of the acid
Add 5g of alkali to the cup, using a lid to prevent heat loss, and measure the change in temperature using a thermometer
Calculate the temperature change using the initial temperature and change in temperature
