- side effects: Hallucinations, Dyspnea, Dizziness

- Nerve Pain medications
- Used to block pain caused by damaged nervous
-Ex: Anti-seizure meds: carbamazepine (Tegretol, carbatrol), Gabapentin (Neurontin, Horizant, Gralise), Phenytoin (Dilantin)
Antidepressants: Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, Pregabalin (lyrica), Duloxetine (cymbalta)
Pain relieving creams: Lidocaine
Pain meds: Oxycodone

Fibromyalgia
A
- There is no cure, only management
- Control Symptoms with:
- Medications
- Physical Exercise (20-30 mins 5 days a week)
- Talk Therapy (helps to express negative feelings about diagnosis, symptoms, etc.)
- Stress Reduction (enjoyable activity)
- Relaxation Techniques - Medications:
- SSRIs: For depression, mood changes, anxiety
- Analgesics: For pain management
- NSAIDs: Relieves pain, dec inflammation, reduces fever
- Nerve Pain meds: Blocks pain caused by damaged nerves

Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibitors
A
- Used to treat glaucoma by decreasing aqueous humor fluids from eyes.
- meds: Methazolamide, Acetazolamide, Dichlorphenamide
s/e: drowsy, dizzy, lightheaded, or more tired than normal
adv:
- NI:
- Monitor I&O
- Diet High in K+
- Reinforce client education
- Client Edu:
- Can be taken with meals to lessen upset stomach occurrence
- Take as directed
- Diet High in Potassium
- This medicine can increase urine output
- Do not double dose
