Pharmacy
Place where pharmacy practice is carried out
- Compounding & dispensing of Rx only, RM, OTC medicines
- Supply to suit particular patient
- Sale of Rx only, RM, OTC medicines
MA3 - Meaning of medicines, new medicine, prescription medicine, and restricted medicine
define these
1) Medicine
- Substance sold for administering to humans that is likely to achieve therapeutic purposes NOT INCLUDING devices, food, radioactive material

- Pharmacy-only –> sold in pharmacy or hospital
- Restricted medicine –> sold only by pharmacist in pharmacy or hospital
- Prescription medicine –> sold & administered only under prescription from authorised prescriber

who can sell the different classes?
Rx only, RM medicines can only be sold by pharmacist
OTC medicines can sold by someone under pharmacist supervision
Rx only can only be sold if under prescription from authorised prescriber/veterinarian/delegated prescriber
