How you feel about what you know about yourself.

What you know about yourself. Your strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes.
Perceived Self
vs
Ideal Self
Your perceived self is how you see yourself whereas your ideal self is what you would like to be like. Your self esteem will be higher when your perceived and ideal self are similar and low when they are very different.
Factors that influence self esteem and self awareness
Peers Media Family Religion Society Environment you grow up in Genetic make-up (Some people are more prone to anxiety or depression etc.)
Strategies to enhance self-awareness
Perform self reflection
Talk to trusted friends/family members/mentors
Write down your goals and track your progress

Physical health and mental health
Being physically healthy improves your mental health.
Exercise produces endorphins and being fit can make you feel good about yourself and improve your self esteem.
