is modelling and watching others
a performer whos watched others achieve the task who then thinks they can do it themselves. ‘if they can do it, I can do it’
verbal peruasion - self efficacy
encouraging performers to think they can do the task, however the encouragement must be from someone they trust and is credivle
emotional arousal - self efficacy
the way atheletes interpret the arousal increase during performance.
e.g. ‘these nerves are good, it will help me perform’
