An EEG is a test that detects abnormalities in your brain waves, or in the electrical activity of your brain. During the procedure, electrodes consisting of small metal discs with thin wires are pasted onto your scalp. The electrodes detect tiny electrical charges that result from the activity of your brain cells.

Bell’s palsy is the most common form of facial paralysis. Muscular dystrophy is a degenerative disease characterized by the weakening of skeletal muscle fibers. ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, affects the nerve celis that control voluntary movement. Dystonia describes repetitive motions or abnormal posturing.
