- It promotes mission completion 2. Only to persons necessary to accomplish the mission
Essential Elements of Friendly Information (EEFI)
Protection of critical aspects of a friendly operation; disclosure of this information could compromise, cause mission failure, and limit success
Examples of EEFI
Ship, submarine, or aircraft system capabilities; repair status/availability of maintenance support; deployment schedules, port calls, dates, and times; Force Protection posture or measures in place
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) examples
Name, SSN, DOB, fingerprints, photograph, financial information, medical information, civilian employment records, home address/phone number, personal email address
What things must DoN do as per PII Policy and Programs?
Complete initial PII awareness training; complete annual PII training; minimize PII use; report a PII breach; digitally sign and encrypt email containing PII
