Q
What is the definition of the Pythagorean theorem?
A
In any right angle triangle, the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the square of the other two sides.
2
Q
Describe how the Pythagorean theorem works.
A
The hypotenuse in a right angle triangle is the longest side. If the hypotenuse is unknown then there is a (+) symbol in the equation the other two forms will always have (-) symbol. Once you’ve squared the known sides and added or subtracted the answer must be square rooted to get your answer.
