How would you fit an Adult Life-Jacket to a Child?
Place jacket over child’s head (this should be done in galley)
Pull down sharply on red toggle to inflate
Bring straps under the child’s legs and attach to buckles
Pull on straps to tighten
Release air if necessary
What are the pre-flight checks for the FAK and EMK?
Correct stowage and quantity
Sealed with green or yellow seal
No red seal
Green seal - Max contents (Eng only)
Yellow seal - Contents above min qty - S
Red seal - Contents below min qty - US
After use where would you place a used portable oxygen bottle indicating 700 psi on the gauge?
Back in its original stowage as it can still be used to supply oxygen
At 0 psi it must be placed out of sight (overhead locker) to avoid mistaken use

Correct stowage - ensure the antenna socket is facing outwards and visible
Correct quantity
Good condition
What are the 3 frequencies used by the ELT?
Civil - 121.5 MHz
Military - 243.0 MHz
Satellite - 406 MHz
How do you activate the ELT on water or on land?
Water
Unroll cord at top of ELT
Attach to life raft
Rotate switch at base to ‘ARM’
Place ELT in water
Land
Break tape allowing antenna to point up
Rotate switch at base to ‘XMT’
Place ELT upright in clear location
What is the optimum distance from a fire for effective firefighting using the BCF Extinguisher?
4 - 6 ft (120 - 180 cm)
