A
- there’s a select committee for each gov department, scrutinising spending, policies, and administration
- WRIGHT REFORMS, HOC REFORM 2009 - majority of select committee chairs now elected by fellow MPs (counter - some MPs would elect fellow MPs as a joke)

strengths: scrutinise policies from gov, recommendations often accepted by gov
weaknesses: gov with majority will also have majority in committees, NOT LEGALLY BINDING
