Scrotal and Testicular Anatomy Flashcards
what is the spermatic cord formed from?
vas deferens
what is the spermatic cord covered by?
internal spermatic fascia
cremasteric fascia
external spermatic fascia
what is the role of the vas deferens?
transmits sperm and accessory gland secretions
what is the testicular artery?
brach of the abdominal aorta which supplies testis ad epididymis
where does the artery of vas deferens arise from?
inferior vesicle artery
where does the cremasteric artery arise from?
the inferior epigastric artery
where does the pampiniform plexus drain into?
right or left testicular vein
what nerve supplies the cremaster?
genital branch of the genitofemoral nerve
where do lymphatic vessels drain to?
lumbar and para-aortic nodes
where does the scrotum drain to?
inguinal lymph nodes
what is the innermost layer of the scrotum?
parietal layer of the tunica vaginalis
what are the testes surrounded by?
the tunica vaginalis (closed peritoneal sac)
the parietal layer of the tunica vaginalis adjacent to the internal spermatic fascia
where do the testicular arteries arise form?
the aorta, immediately inferiorly to the renal arteries
where do the pampiniform plexus drain into?
the testicular veins
the left drains into the left renal vein and the right into the ICS
where do the testes drain into?
the para-aortic nodes
