Systematic review - objective analysis of all qualifying primary research studies
Meta-analysis - integrated analysis of all numerical data from all qualifying studies

What are the tiers of the evidence pyramid

A

Bottom - Info found in textbooks or passed on from someone
Middle - Cohort study, case controlled study, cross sectional study and case study
Top - Systematic reviews and met-analysis reviews. As well as randomised controlled double blind studies.

A

It is the process of subjecting an authors work to the scrutiny of anonymous referees who are experts in the field.
It ensures authors meet the standards of discipline and of science.
