Q

What are cardiovascular limitations in tetraplegia?

A

Sympathetically mediated HR response gone
Circulatory Hypokinesis
Lack of adrenal medulla innervation
Fitness gain result from peripheral adaptations
Small muscle mass
Most fast twitch fibers

Q

What are cardiovascular limitations Paraplegia?

A

Complete or partial sympathetic outflow
Circulatory Hypokinesis (drop BP and large quantity of blood squandered in inactive areas)
Fitness gains mix central and peripheral.
