Delusional Disorder
A. Presence of delusions for 1 month or longer
B. No hallucinations; if present they are not prominent and related to the delusion
C. Functioning not impaired outside of ramifications of delusions; no bizarre behavior
D. If mood episode has occurred it has been brief relative to the duration of the delusional episode
Brief Psychotic Disorder
A. Presence of delusions, hallucinations, or disorganized speech; disorganized or catatonic behavior may also be present
B. Duration of 1 day to 1 month, with full return to premorbid level of functioning
Schizophreniform Disorder
A. Two or more:
— Delusions *
— Hallucinations *
— Disorganized speech *
— Disorganized or catatonic behavior
— Negative symptoms (diminished emo. expression or avolition)
B. Duration 1 month (unless treated) to 6 months
Schizophrenia
A. Two or more:
— Delusions *
— Hallucinations *
— Disorganized speech *
— Disorganized or catatonic behavior
— Negative symptoms (diminished emo. expression or avolition)
B. Level of functioning below that achieved prior to onset
C. Duration of at least 6 months. At least 1 month of active phase symptoms)
Schizoaffective Disorder
A. Major mood episode present during most of the duration of the illness
B. Two or more:
— Delusions *
— Hallucinations *
— Disorganized speech *
— Disorganized or catatonic behavior
— Negative symptoms (diminished emo. expression or avolition)
C. Delusions or hallucinations present for 2 weeks without mood episode
Substance/Medication-Induced Psychotic Disorder
A. Presence of delusions and/or hallucinations
B. Symptom A occurred during or shortly after intoxication and intoxicant capable of producing such symptoms
Psychotic Disorder Due to Another Medical Condition
A. Hallucinations or delusions
B. A is consequence of medical condition
