Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder
A. Verbal or physical anger outbursts that are disproportionate to the situation
B. Outbursts are age inappropriate
C. Occur on average 3 or more times per week
D. Irritable or angry mood most of the day, nearly every day
E. Duration 12 or more months; no more than 3 months without all symptoms
F. Criteria present in at least two settings
G. Onset before age 10
H. No diagnosis should be made for the first time before age 6 or after age 18
I. No period lasting more than a day during which criteria (except duration) for manic or hypomanic episode have been met
Major Depressive Disorder
A. Meet criteria for Depressive Episode
Persistent Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia)
A. Depressed mood most of the day for at least half the days for 2 years (1 year in children/adolescents and with irritable mood)
B. Two or more:
— Over or underrating
— Insomnia or hypersomnia
— Fatigue
— Low self-esteem
— Difficulty concentrating/making decisions
— Hopelessness
C. Not without symptoms more than 2 months
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
A. Symptoms must be present in week before onset of menses, improve within a few days after start of menses, and cease in the week after menses B. Five symptoms total, at least one from each category C. At least one: — Affect lability — Irritability, anger — Depressed mood — Anxiety D. At least one: — Loss of interest — Difficulty concentrating — Fatigue — Change in appetite — Hyper or insomnia — Feeling overwhelmed — Physical symptoms E. Symptoms during most periods within previous year
