What are examples of positive symptoms of SZ?

What are examples of negative symptoms of SZ?
- Avolition
- Alogia (speech poverty)
- Flattening of affect
What is avolition?
A reduction or inability to initiate or engage in goal-directed behaviours. E.g. an individual may sit in their home doing nothing
What is alogia (speech poverty)?
Where person loses ability to speak fluently and is believed to occur due to slowing or blocked thoughts
What is affective flattening?
Reduction in range of emotional expressions e.g. tone of voice, facial expression
What are hallucinations?
False perceptions that can affect the different senses. E.g hearing voices (auditory), seeing faces or objects (visual)
What are delusions?
Irrational beliefs about themselves or the world i.e. delusions of grandeur ‘president or celebrity’
