Wave Scheduling
scheduling 3 patients at the same time to be seen in the order in which they arrive
Modified Wave Scheduling
allocating 2 patients to arrive at a specified time and the 3rd to arrive approximately 30 minutes later, repeated throughout the day
Double-booking
scheduling 2 patients at the same time with the same provider, often to fit in a patient who has an acute illness
this often used to work in a patient with an acute illness when no other time is available
it creates delays in the provider’s schedule that continues throughout the rest of the day
