A
-induces expression of gamma globin producing gene that is dormant after birth. Increases HB F
-exerts positive effect on HB content of RBC, RBC indices, blood rheology (lessens RBC endothelial adhesion), and ineffective erythropoesis, reduces endothelial adhesion cells by decreasing platelets and WBCs
