SCC Epidemiology
A
- 20% of non-melonoma skin cancers
- Increases with age men more commonly affected

- Chronic UVR exposure
- Type I or II skin
- HPV
- Chronic inflammation

SCC Presentation
A
- Indurated, nodular, keratinising tumour that may ulcerate
- May present as an ulcer without keratinisation
- Clinical appearance variable
- Small nodule enlarges and centre becomes necrotic and sloughs
- Slow growing ulcer or reddish skin plaque
- Bleeding may occur

- Biopsy
- Further imaging may be required in advanced disease
