SBI Unit 4 respiratory system Flashcards
What is Asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchities, emphysma, and pneumonia?
Asthma: chronic respiratory disease, inflammation in bronchial, treated by anti-inflammation drugs
cystic fibrosis: herediory diesease, mucus membrane produce to much mucus, no cure
Bronchities: inflamation of mucus membrane lineing the bronchial, caused by bacteria infection or virus
emphysma: chronic respiratory dieaese, prolonged exposure to air pollutants, lungs can’t fully deflate
pneumonia: inflammation of the air sacs in lungs, caused by infection or inhaling shit, treated by antibiotics
types of respiration
- Eternal respiration: exchange of Oxygen and carbon dioxide inside lungs and blood (Gas exchange)
- Internal respiratory: gas exchange between blood and body cells
- Cellular respiration: releases energy within cells and creates energy for cell(ATP)
What is diffusion?
Air moves from highly concentrated air in lungs → non-concentrated area in bloodstream → air moved through bloodstream to tissue
