What are saviour siblings?
A
Children born to provide an organ or cell transplant to a sibling who is affected by a (usually) life threatening disease

What are advantages of saviour siblings? (3)
A
Keeping the dying sibling alive for longer, potentially cure the disease of the person, means it’s a perfect match for organ/blood donation

Why is it controversial? (3)
A
Creating a child to save another person’s life means we don’t value what the child is but what it can do for others
Saviour sibling may be hurt when it finds out that they were only born to help their sibling
Can’t consent to the procedures
