SARCOIDOSIS

A
- A multisystem disorder of non-caseating granulomas
- Erythema nodosum, lupus pernio, hypercalcaemia, arthralgia, bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy, cough, liver, renal and cardiac involvement
- Young african woman
- Elevated serum ACE, Hypercalcaemia, elevated ESR & CRP, CXR showing bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy, tissue biopsy showing granulomas, spirometry = restrictive pattern, LFTs for liver involvement, ECG / Echo for cardiac involvement, urine dip for renal involvement
- None usually, unless HyperCa2+ or eye / heart / lung involvement then steroids
