How do you reduce type 1 error?
A
Set criterion of significance at higher level - at 0.001 level
Increase sample size - this reduces the amount of sampling error in data

A
Greater power, lower the type 2 error rate
Looking for power of 0.80
Could reduce significance level to 0.10 but not good idea because it increases type 1 error
Easiest way to increase power - increase sample size

A
The number of data values that are free to vary in the face of some constraint
Df is the number of scores minus the number of parameters that are being estimated.
