Q

how do you estimate the total population of daisies in a field

A
  1. put 2 tape measure at a right angle ans should measure 20m in length
  2. get 2 bags with each bag containing the numbers 1 to 20
  3. work in a group of 3 where person 1 picks a number and for example it is 8 they move to the 8m point of the tap measure
  4. repeat this for person 2
  5. person 3 will then place the quadrant at 8 to 12
  6. the students then count the number or daisies in the quadrate
  7. repeat this process 9 times

———— x of that specied counted
area sampled in sample

Q

how can we use a transect line to see how the number of daisies change from the tree outwards

A
  1. put the tape measure at the tree in a diagonal line
  2. use a quadrat to count the number of daisies at the start of the transect
  3. record the light intensity by using a light meter or an app
  4. move the quadrat 1m down the line and repeat the measurement and do this until you reach the end of the tap measure
