Salmonella typically lives in animal and human intestines and are shed through feces.

Humans become infected most frequently through contaminated water or food.

How is it treated
Generally people with Salmonella do not require treatment. They usually only need to take care to drink plenty water or other clear fluids. Some people find that low fat natural yoghurts and probiotic products ones that contain small amounts of bacteria can help to get the bowels back to normal.
