What is SCC’s employee code of conduct?
A
Part 1: standards of conduct
- must give impartial advice
- must not form close personal rels with Mayor or Cllrs
- avoid behaviour in personal life which harms SCC reputation
- strive to ensure value for money
- abide by rules on confidentiality
Part 2: serving SCC
- duty of trust: customer care within pro boundaries
- respect for others
- H&S
- external comms: no public statements
- political neutrality

What is SCC’s complaints procedure?
A
- complete online form
- logged centrally then sent to relevant dept
- 2 stage procedure:
Stage 1:
endeavour to acknowledge receipt of complaint within 3 working days of receipt;
aim to respond within 10 working days of receipt, if unable advise of delay and keep updated on progress;
if dissatisfied with response, can ask to consider at stage two
Stage 2:
same timescales;
if dissatisfied, can go to local gov Ombudsman
