What colour are anti-collision lights?
Flashing white, red, or both
What are the safety belt requirements?
Required for each person on board, must be metal to metal latches
When can a restraint system be used?
Can be used instead of safety belts when person carried on stretcher etc or carried for parachuting purposes
Who requires a shoulder harness?
Each front seat and flight deck must have a shoulder harness
Exception: small AC manufactured before July 18/1978
When should crew members have their seat belts on?
Pilot flying must have seatbelts on at all times.
All other crew members should have seat belts on during TO, landing, and when directed by the PIC
What are the rules for infant restraints systems?
If no child restraints system is required, infant should be held securely in passengers arms.
One infant per passenger
Flight control locks should not be operated unless?
Flight control lock is incapable of becoming engaged when AC is operated.
Unmistakable warning is provided to the person operating the AC
What are the rules for De icing/ anti-icing?
No person shall conduct AC in known icing conditions unless:
PIC determines AC is equipped to operate in icing conditions in accordance with airworthiness standards
Current weather reports or pilot reports indicate icing conditions no longer exist
On unpressurized AC all crew members & 10% off passengers (no less than 1) require oxygen if?
Entire flight period exceeds 30min @ cabin pressure altitude above 10000 ft ASL, but not exceeding 13000ft ASL.
On an unpressurized AC all person onboard require oxygen if?
- Entire flight period @ cabin pressure altitude is above 13000ft ASL
- For AC operated in Airtransport service under (1.) a period for less than one hour
When must O2 be provided to all crew and 10% off passengers on a pressurized aircraft during emergency descent?
A.) Entire flight period exceeds 30min @ cabin pressure altitude above 10000 ft ASL, but not exceeding 13000ft ASL.
B.) entire period of flight @ CPA above 13000ft ASL.
C.) for AC operated in Airtransport service under conditions a.) or b.)
A flight period not less than (i) 30 min and (ii) for flight crew members, 2H for AC where type certificate authorizes flight @ altitudes exceeding FL250
When must O2 be provided to all passengers on pressurized aircraft during emergency descent?
A.) entire period of flight @ cabin pressure altitude exceeding 13000ft ASL
B.) for AC operated in Airtransport service under conditions in A.) or a period of flight of not less than 10 minutes
When must crew use O2 masks?
When operating at Altitudes above 10000 ft To 13000 ft ASL, crew shall wear O2 masks and use O2 for any part of flight that is more than 30minutes
When above cabin altitude of 13000ft ASL all person shall wear an O2 mask and use O2 for the duration of the flight
When shall pilots use O2 masks?
Pilots shall use O2 masks if not equipped with quick- donning masks and is operated @ or above FL250
Or
Equipped with quick donning masks and is operated above FL 410
