Can you still fly a plane with an unserviceable ELT?

A

AC may be operated for 30 days if ELT becomes unserviceable. As long as ELT is sent for repair ASAP and removed @ first aerodrome possible

Placard must be installed and display date ELT was removed

What should you do if accidentally ELT transmission occurs?

A

Contact FSS/ nearest ATS unit ASAP inform of location, time, duration, and reset ELT
