Does a certificate of airworthiness expire? What invalidates a certificate of airworthiness?
A certificate of airworthiness does not expire. it is valid for life, but can be invalidated if
- AD airworthiness directives are not followed
- mandatory equipment not maintained
- not operated in accordance with POH and W&B
What is the AAIR Annual Airworthiness Info report?
The AAIR is a report submitted to TC by aircraft owner annually, keeps track of hours of general aviation fleet. NOT REQUIRED TO GO FLYING BUT COULD BE FINED IF NOT SUBMITTED.
What is the inspection cycle for a commercial aircraft?
Inspection at 50h, 100h, 200h annual inspection
What invalidates a certificate of registration?
Certificate of registration invalidated if owner, address, purpose of AC changes
how soon must TC be notified of changes to certificate of registration ?
Tc must be notified within 7 days of changes to Cof R and will issue a new one within 90days
How long is the intern Certificate of registration valid for?
It is valid for 90 days
When is a radio station license required onboard?
Only if flying overseas
What are the requirements for a POH carried onboard?
Must be original “certified true copy” for exact type and year of plane
When does a W&B report expire?
It expired when any moderate or major changes made to CofG.
Mechanic must produce new W&B
What are the 3 types of insurance? And when must insurance be carried on board?
Insurance must be carried onboard for all flight!
3 types:
1.Public liability or third party: for damage externally done by AC
ALL AC MUST CARRY PROOF OF LIABILITY ON BOARD
2.Passenger liability: for injuries to passenger.
Mandatory for commercial operations including flight training units. Private AC optional
3.Hull insurance: optional for damage to plane
When must the journey log be onboard?
Must be onboard for all flights. Exceptions are for Flight training unit, commercial operator, or balloons
Exemptions of JLog if operator has approved Daily Flight sheet
How many entries must be maintained when starting a new journey log and how long must old Journey log be kept for?
Enough entires to maintain unbroken chronological order and old logs must be kept for 1 year from last entry
When are compass swings and ELT certification done?
Annually
Who is a radio operators license issued by and how long is it valid for?
Valid for life, by Industry Canada
