16
Q

Why is BATT placed on AUTO

A
  1. It isolates APU bus for APU start
  2. Acts as a back up to DC ESS BUS 1,2,3
  3. If Using a DC GPU it allows GPU to Power the APU Bus
17
Q

With only the batteries on. What do you see

A
  1. Screens 2,3
  2. CCD1
  3. IESS
  4. Clock
  5. MCDU2
  6. DCU
  7. Compass Light
18
Q

Why is it important for the DCU to be powered by DC power

A

It allows the airplane to navigate using the DCU

19
Q

When you check the emergency lights what lights come on. How many lights for how long. ?

A

4 lights for 10 minutes

  1. Pod lights
  2. Emergency signs
  3. Placards
  4. Door escape
  5. Tracking lights - luminescent powered.
20
Q

What can interrupt the E-PBIT

A
  1. Turning on the hydraulic pumps
  2. Flight control panel switches are cycled
  3. AC Power is interrupted.
21
Q

Once you Turn the batteries On and AUTO what Items do you check next

A
  1. 90 for IESS
  2. Screens 2 and 3 only
  3. 22.5V
22
Q

what is the normal procedure to start the APU

A

BATT 1 must be ON and BATT 2 must be in AUTO for the APU to start.

Step 1
EMER STOP Button ……………………………………………………………………..Guarded
Step 2
APU SELECTOR KNOB ………………………………………… ON, START then release

23
Q

How do you transfer electrical power from GPU to APU?

A
  1. Start APU - Make sure APU Button is pressed in.
  2. Verify Electrical Page
  3. Deselect GPU button
24
Q

How do you transfer power from APU to GPU?

A

Once Available light comes on, press in GPU button and shutdown the APU.

25
Q

Why do we check for the 22.5 Voltage when turning on the batteries?

A

22.5v will give us 10 minutes of emergency power

26
Q

Why do we do the safety and power up Checklist?

A

To make sure power can be applied to the aircraft

27
Q

If you are recharging the batteries because they were below 22.5. Does taxi time count towards this charge?

A

Yes

28
Q

What happens if you hold the FIRE TEST BUTTON for more than 10 seconds?

A

APU will shutoff
