No Fire Protection test messages
EICAS fire protect fail or APU fire protect fail, its amber.
When must an originating check be performed

What and when does the Flight Control Power Up Build in Test occur PBIT
The test occurs as soon as AC source is introduced.
The Electrical PBIT
- starts as soon as ac power is introduced
- if interrupted you may get a No dispatch msg.
- the test is interrupted with any hydraulic pump turned on
- loss in AC Power
- flight control panel switches.
- A Status message tells you the test is in progress.
When the batteries are turned off what is still powered
HOT BATT BUS, fire protection, Fuel panel
On the first flight of the day, with temperatures below -18°C (0°F), or when the smart probes are frozen what must you do?
Run a ADSP Heater test, to remove frozen contaminates from the Smart Probes
Run The hydraulic Warm up test.

when hydraulic resovour is below -18c
Can you continue if you interrupt a Flight Control PBIT
yes as long as you don’t have an expire message displaying.

- Loss of AC Power.
- Turning on Hydraulics
- Moving Flight controls
When does the H-PBIT begin
When all 3 hydraulic systems are powered. Moving flight controls will interrupt the test.
What do you do if the E-PBIT is interrupted ?
You may continue as long as you don’t have a FLT CTRL BIT EXPIRED message.

- It isolates APU bus for APU start
- Acts as a back up to DC ESS BUS 1,2,3

Why is it important for the DCU to be powered by DC power
It allows the airplane to navigate using the DCU
When you check the emergency lights what lights come on. How many lights for how long. ?

- Emergency signs
- Placards
- Door escape
- Tracking lights - luminescent powered.
What can interrupt the E-PBIT
- Turning on the hydraulic pumps
- Flight control panel switches are cycled
- AC Power is interrupted.

what is the normal procedure to start the APU
BATT 1 must be ON and BATT 2 must be in AUTO for the APU to start.

How do you transfer electrical power from GPU to APU?
- Start APU - Make sure APU Button is pressed in.

Once Available light comes on, press in GPU button and shutdown the APU.
Why do we check for the 22.5 Voltage when turning on the batteries?
22.5v will give us 10 minutes of emergency power
