Outline the effects of CYP 2D6

A

The CYP 2D6 isoform is responsible for the metabolism of ~25% of drugs e.g B-blockers.
Absent or reduced CYP 2D6 activity can lead to ADRs by: decreased elimination and accumulation of the drug from reduced metabolism
