No!! Integrating literacy across the curriculum will transfer their growth to other areas. When reading anything aloud, model fluency, tone, emphasis, phrasing to improve comprehension. Teach text features like headings to help navigate text quicker. Science…observation log and lab reports. Reading lessons on ocean…in science learn about marine life. study ocean maps in social studies. In math, draw pictures or symbols. Look at art and write a response. Write about dinners or diey. Make meaning from texts, take ownership of new learning.
