Cyanosis:
A
Bluish discolouration of the skin (and mucous membranes)

When does cyanosis develop?
A
Five grams of desaturates haemoglobin, regardless of concentration

Peripheral Cyanosis
A
In the limbs
- Caused by poor circulation
- Best observed in the nail beds

Central Cyanosis
A
Caused by decreased arterial oxygenation (low spo2)

Where is central cyanosis observed
A
Buccal mucous membranes (inside mouth) and the lips

Clubbing
A
Enlargement of the finger tips and change in angle of nail bed

What happens in clubbing
A
Amount of soft tissue decreases

Signs and Symptoms of Pulmonary Disease
A
- Abnormal Breathing
- Cough / Sputum
- Hemoptysis
- Cyanosis
- Clubbing
