What are the markings for runway surfaces? Taxiways?
Runway surfaces are white
Taxiways and other nonrunway surfaces are yellow
What are the 3 types of markings for runways?
Runways with no instrument approach(visual runways)
Runways with a non precision instrument approach
Runways with a precision instrument approach
The ends of the runway are called the?
Threshold or approach end
-where the landing area starts
Departure end
- at the far end where you are taking off - opposite the threshold
Can you land before the displaced threshold?
No but you can use the area before the threshold to taxi and take off
How is an emergency overrun area indicated?
With yellow chevrons pointing to the threshold.
No operations are allowed on an emergency overrun
