What is Rum?
Rum is a distilled spirit produced from fermented sugarcane or molasses, a byproduct of processing sugarcane into sugar
What is molasses
A byproduct of pressing sugarcane into sugar
How is light rum distilled/processed?
Usually by continuous still and filtered with charcoal after cask aging to remove color
Where is Mount Gay from? What color is it?

What is black strap rum?
Young rums, which may or may not be distilled from blackstrap molasses, made dark or “black” via caramel coloring added after distillation, to mimic the look of a long-aged rum.
