Must pass the stage before moving onto the next one, if unsuccessful then carry on sport at club level.
1 - Application
2 - physical / skill-based tests
3 - further assessment, preparation for training & development. May include physical/medical screening, lifestyle workshops and psychological assessment.
4 - Confirmation stage - athletes train 6-12 months, continually assessed and progress recorded.
5 - pathway health check - every 4 years, measures the effectiveness of the programme
