Q

How do you pivot around the cargo hook?

A

Keep the cyclic centered and then use pedals to turn around the hook. A left pedal turn would me a the front rotor tilts left and aft rotor tilts right.

13
Q

How do you pivot around the tail?

A

Push the cyclic in the same direction as pedal. For a left pedal turn, the rotor will tilt the left and then more left with cyclic, the aft rotor will tilt neutral (from a right tilt).

14
Q

How do you pivot around the nose?

A

Move cyclic in opposite direction as pedal. For a left (turn) pedal turn, the forward disc will move neutral from left and the rear rotor will tilt more right.

16
Q

What do the LCT’s help with?

A

The reduce fuselage drag and increase cyclic tilt to help reduce flapping.

17
Q

Why might the thrust connecting rod in the flight control closet get bent?

A

Thrust lever wasn’t at ground detent during shutdown.

18
Q

What does the first stage mixing unit do?

A

It combines pitch and thrust (station 95 and 120) and roll and yaw (station 95 and 120).
