Rotor System Flashcards
Which actuators are attached to the non rotating ring of the swashplate?
Two upper dual boost actuators and one LCT actuator
What drives the outer ring of the swash plate?
Drive arm assembly.
What can cause droop stop pounding?
Exceeding ground control limits.
When pre-flighting the central hub oil tank, how much oil should show in the sight glasses?
They should show Half Full
How will droop stop pounding be indicated to the pilots?
Thumping noise and vibrations
What component of the rotor head allows the blades to lead and lag?
Vertical hinge pin.
What controls the amount of lead and lag?
Shock absorbers.
What is the maximum transient rotor RPM with the engines driving the rotors?
106%
Where are the Lighting protection strips located?
Top and bottom of each blade
What is the maximum transient rotor RPM?
111%
What RPM can be used for normal operations?
97% to 101%.
How do you pivot around the cargo hook?
Keep the cyclic centered and then use pedals to turn around the hook. A left pedal turn would me a the front rotor tilts left and aft rotor tilts right.
How do you pivot around the tail?
Push the cyclic in the same direction as pedal. For a left pedal turn, the rotor will tilt the left and then more left with cyclic, the aft rotor will tilt neutral (from a right tilt).
How do you pivot around the nose?
Move cyclic in opposite direction as pedal. For a left (turn) pedal turn, the forward disc will move neutral from left and the rear rotor will tilt more right.
You cannot adjust one LCT at a time? T/F
True
